Save, the organization responsible for administration of the Marco Polo Airport commissioned photographer Daniel Rosini to produce (installed by Clear Channel) this 80 meter (250+ feet) mural of the Grand Canal from the Rialto Bridge to Ca’ Rezzonico. It is along the walkway from arriving aircraft to the baggage area.
It is made up of literally thousands of photographs, each palazzo required at least 4 photos. And it features a visual effect which fades water along the wall and floor as well as the sky above.
Is this just a preview of the delights instore for the new tourist even before they take their first vaporetto ride? Or is the semblance of a Vegas effect too much?
