Venice’s Festa del Redentore commemorates the end of the devastating 1575–1577 plague. Celebrated each July with decorated boats, family picnics, fireworks, a temporary bridge to the Church of Il Redentore and religious traditions, it is a deeply Venetian expression of gratitude, remembrance and hope.
