We all appreciate the Italian Style, from the runways of Milano the newest fashions arrive. They have given us Gucci, Versace, Prada, Armani and the list goes on. These same designers are responsible for the uniforms of the Polizia (police) are designed by Armani while those of the Carabinieri (State Police) are designed by  Valentino.

In cars, everyone recognizes and dreams of owning (or riding in) a Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Maserati or Lamborghini. Even the Fiat 500 (Cinque Cento) is taking the US. Why Fiat even bought American car maker Chrysler.

It comes as no surprise then that in Rome they have a Lamborghini as a Police car, the Huracan. It would make a trip to the police station almost worth getting arrested. It is outfitted with medical equipment and a special refrigerated container used in delivering organ transplants, rare bloods, a defibrillator, etc.

In addition this beauty is fast. It is powered by an aspirated 5.2 litre V10 and 610 hp and it can exceed 325 km (201.9 mph or 3.36 miles per minute). And it goes from 0 to 100km (62mph) in 3.2 seconds. Can you imagine this car in the tiny streets and alleyways of Rome?

So if you see a blur go by on the streets of Rome or Bologna, it may just be the newest addition. But be careful driving on the autostrada, they are equipped with cameras, electronics and computers to detect your speed and I’m sure they can outrun your rental car!
